About Jeff

Jeff was born in Atlanta in 1967. In 2004, he accepted a position with Fidelity Investments. So in early 2005, his wife Courtenay and their 3 boys moved to Cincinnati. Wanting the best schools for their children, they decided to look for a home in the Village of Mariemont. Shortly thereafter, they found a 100 year-old farm style house on Indianview they now call home.

Throughout his career, Jeff has worked at both small businesses and Fortune 500 companies in the areas of marketing and business strategy. His roles have largely been in start-up businesses and growth businesses. He's held leadership positions at Allmerica Financial, Ceridian Corporation and Fidelity Investments. Currently, he serves as Director of Marketing at Paycor, the 4th largest payroll provider in America and a Cincinnati headquartered company. Jeff has been instrumental in the creation and execution of business strategies including market development, business automation and strategic partnerships. He's personally managed multi-million dollar budgets and knows what it means to make tough budget decisions.

Jeff earned a B.B.A. degree from Georgia State University. Jeff's wife, Courtenay, earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and a Master's degree in Education from Georgia State University. Jeff and Courtenay met in 1991 and married at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in 1993 in Decatur, Georgia. She currently teaches at the Mariemont Preschool.

Jeff's parents live in Atlanta, Georgia. His father is a retired banker who was with SunTrust Banks for over forty years. He was appointed to serve on the State Board of Education in 1994. His mother has been an active volunteer in the community. He has two sisters who also reside in Atlanta.

For the past two years, Jeff has served on Council in the Village of Mariemont. He's been a vocal leader for solving challenging problems like increasing expenses, out of date technology infrastructure and safety concerns. He's also been a proponent for creating a Village vision plan and encouraging more long range planning. In 2010, Jeff won unanimous Council support for repurposing one of the six Council committees, now named "Economic Development and Zoning", to ensure an ongoing focus on areas important to our economic health. In 2011, Jeff conducted a thorough assessment of our greatly outdated computer and systems infrastructure. He then earned unanimous Council support for updating this infrastructure to enable more automation, increased data security, and cost savings.

Over the last few years, Jeff has joined others from Cincinnati, Mariemont and Terrace Park on medical and construction mission trips to Central America. They provide medical assistance, perform surgeries and build homes for very poor residents in small, local villages in Belize. Here's a brief video of their most recent trip: 2009 Belize Medical Mission Video and from 2008: 2008 Belize Medical Mission Video.

Jeff is a certified Six Sigma Champion and a member of various industry organizations. He enjoys competitive tennis and helping coach Mariemont baseball and t-ball teams. He attends and serves in various ways at Horizon Community Church.
